|
|
Hey guys,
I've just set up a Pootle server, which provides an easy way for anyone to translate HoverRace. The server can be found at http://pootle.igglybob.com/
Here's what you'll need to do to help.
1) Register an account, just takes a name and a password and a valid email, which it sends a confirmation code in.
2) Go to All Projects->HoverRace and select a language to translate to.
3) Click on the po file to start translating.
4) Click the 'edit' box to the right of each string to be translated to start translating.
5) When you are done translating a string, hit 'Submit'.
6) When you are done translating, click 'HoverRace' next to the name of the language, up near the top, then click 'Show Editing Functions', then click 'Commit' to commit the changes you made to subversion.
I know not many languages are up there, and unfortunately Pootle doesn't provide an easy way for any user to add languages, so you'll have to let me know if you want to start a new language. _________________ <www.igglybob.com> |

I've got quite a few foreign friends in the different games I play, I'll see what I can do sir .
--Edit--
My friend Thomas translated the French, but upon commiting it complained the .po file is out of date. |

| Maybe the Trac didn't update the Pootle when you added those new strings. So when the Pootle was trying to commit, it hit the 'newer file on the trac' snag. |

I'll do Dutch then. I also translated Trackmania to Dutch and it used .po files as well, but no fancy web interface. This looks quite easy. Also a lot fewer strings than Trackmania
edit: I added some Dutch strings and it committed fine.
edit2: Translated all the strings. Some things are a bit dodgy, like the translation of "peer" as "gelijke", but I couldn't think of anything better. Feel free to change weird things. |

They're not all there yet, I have many still to extract and get into translatable .po files. Should be done in a few weeks.
Thanks! _________________ <www.igglybob.com> |

I added a bunch more strings. Lots more things are translatable now.
Be careful, though -- gettext automatically does fuzzy translations where it can and many of them are bad. Pootle tells you which ones are fuzzy; they have a gray bar next to them. _________________ <www.igglybob.com> |
