Since I'm bored and some of you probably are also. I decided to make a little thread to see how many old hoverrace sites we can find.

I don't want sites like cnet or mmorpg.com where they just talk about the game and link to the download. I'd like old hr.com sites, old team sites, old records sites, etc.

If you find any post them here so everyone can see them.

Ranger's old HR page.

I'm hoping someone can find Team Extreme's site back when SN (keddy) and I had it.

Skel's old HR page, which actually has a decent history of the game:

I like Ranger's guestbook, especially this comment:

BEST WAR TRACKS:
1. RETALIATION - SUPERNOVA (9.5)
2. COLISEUM - ED (8.5)COLISEUM - ED (8.5)
3. SUNSIDE - SOLITANCER (7)

Haha, epic win my ridiculous track being one of the bests war tracks.

And hail everyone, specially to Austin and Hap, the most sexy "gringos" I have met.

Hi guys, long time no speak. Hope everyone is doing well and all that caper... With regards to HoverRace history, Geocities is closing down today which will mean few of the really old HR sites will go down too... forever. If you're interested in saving any of them you can download them now before it's too late.

I used a program called Httrack to download Shredds, Rangers and one of my old sites (HoverRace Explored). I'm sure there are other programs that can do the same though:

http://www.httrack.com/page/1/en/index.html

The sites I downloaded are at http://openhover.com/geocities and will need a wee bit of work to get them working again after the move. Zip files of the sites are also available.

So, if there's any other sites you guys want to save now's probably your last chance... Or you could just leave them to die and work for the future. Your choice ;-)

Kind Regards and Good Luck. Speak to you in another two years :-)

Johnsie

For what it's worth I think archive.org should have decent copies of most of it, but that's not always the case.

Google has about 30mln results of pages with geocities.com in the url, and most of them are also in cache.. Though that doesn't work for long i think :(

The site itself is down, but I found my old page through the archives. Obviously no images with it, but still comedic for me too now:

The day that I figured out how to get that pop-up to come up when people got to my site was one of the most glorious days of my young life.
